Goddess Tea Shop is an online shop specializing in hand blended artisan teas. Each tea blend is named after and honors a Goddess. Every tea is hand blended in small batches to preserve freshness and quality. All teas, spices and herbs come from a respected spice merchant. Every order is packed by hand and shipped within 24 business hours of purchase (excluding holidays) and is mailed USPS priority within the United States. International orders ship First Class Air Mail unless otherwise noted.
About Dani (Resident Tea Goddess and Blender of Blends):
I am a veteran barista with over 10 years of managing and working in independent coffee houses under my belt. I have been trained by professional coffee roasters, expert baristas and my own trial by fire experiences. I began my career in coffee houses in my family owned coffee house under the expert tutelage of my older brother whose training included drinking many burnt shots of espresso to learn the difference between a good shot and a bad shot. Though rough for the first few days this proved to be a most excellent learning tool because I have rarely if ever served a burnt shot to a customer since then.
My obsession with tea began several years ago when I left my last coffee house job to pursue a career in knitting (which I am still presently doing.) when I discovered that after a decade of nonstop coffee consumption my poor stomach lining was crying Uncle. I switched to tea as a way to give my poor stomach a break from coffee and quickly became hooked! As a student of Sociology and Anthropology I have long been fascinated by cultures, rituals and ceremonies and found it very interesting how tea plays a part in a lot of rituals and ceremonies the world over, through history and in modern times.
I started this company and subsequent blog as a way to share my love and knowledge of teas. I hope to add hand roasted coffee to my product line in the near future.
